NintendoLife reports that PDP will be releasing a line of GameCube-style controllers for Wii U this holiday season.
Like the Classic Controller, the new controllers will plug into the bottom of the Wii Remote. So far, no images of the controllers have been revealed.
Nintendo has granted an official license to PDP to use character likenesses in the designs. PDP has confirmed they will be making Mario, Yoshi, and Peach-themed controllers. Each unit will cost $24.99.
No release date has been given, other than this holiday season, so they should be here just in time for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
My Opinion:
While I’m always a little leery of third-party controllers, I might give these a try. I’m a sucker for Mario-themed paraphernalia, and the price isn’t bad. I’ll have to see what they actually look like, though. And for the record, I think they should make a Captain Falcon-themed controller. I’d buy 20.
