Weekends are meant to be used strictly for gaming; at least that’s what we think anyways. So here is where you can find out all of our crazy plans for the upcoming weekend! Are you playing any of the games we are?
Courtney Osborn, Founder & Editor in Chief:
I will be working my way towards getting 100% in Watch Dogs and also finishing up Drakengard 3 for review.
Lou Contaldi, Senior Editor:
This weekend is a heavy work week, but I managed to get my brother playing Mario Kart 8 (as if it would be hard). I’ll be spending some time bonding with the family and battling it out online (not in the Battle Mode though, that is awful). Besides that, Hearthstone addiction is hitting hard.
Chad Waller, Editor:
I bought Transistor and have been playing that on and off. Will continue this on the weekend. Hope to finish soon so I can review the thing. Otherwise, Halo 4 tomorrow and some more Earth Defense Force sometime on Saturday or Sunday. Replaying the game through as the Air Raider. I GET A TANK GUYS!
Shawn Richards, Editor:
After some Pixeljunk Monsters, I will dabble into the newly released Pixeljunk Shooter. Other than that, nothing much on my end because E3 2014 IS COMING!!!
Brett Medlock, Editor:
The Geekend Update already!? This week flew by! You know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun! And I have Mario Kart 8 to blame for that. MK8 is freaking great! It’s what me and my fiancée did all week! The only downside is I haven’t been able to keep my trophy count up
Race with me on MK8! Nintendo Network ID – brettnll
Steven Shearer, Editor:
I’m currently at 70% completion on Watch Dogs, so I’ll be trying to get that up to 100% this weekend!
Ryan Latuso, Editor:
Right now I am bouncing between Half Life, Bravely Default, Watch Dogs, and Mario Kart.
Dustin LaRoe, Editor:
I’ll probably play Super Time Force and Civilization V, but I don’t really have much in the way of plans. I am still working on MarioKart 8 and MarioGolf as well. I need to finally play Thief and see if I like it or not. I don’t feel excited by it, so who knows. Too many games, too little time.
Benjamin Luthi, Editor:
E3 is right around the corner, so in preparation for new game announcements, I’ll be hitting the backlog this weekend. Since I just got Pikmin 3 free with my Mario Kart 8 purchase, I will be starting Pikmin 2 on GameCube. Then I’ll be alternating between Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Monster Hunter Tri. Maybe throw in a little LEGO Batman for good measure. And once I feel like I’ve gained some real gaming skills, I’ll hop on Day Z for a quick trip back to reality.
Myles Farrington, Editor:
I’ll probably be playing some Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate on my stream because I’m too poor to buy anything else… I will also be applying for jobs… I am sad.
Colin Conroy, Editor:
I’m on a bit of a trophy-hunting craze right now, so I’ll be going back to try and platinum the first two Infamous games. I’m pretty close to finishing both, so I’ll probably spend the rest of my time playing Watch Dogs. I haven’t made it very far in that game yet because I’ve gotten lost in all of the side missions and mini-games. Although, at this point, I’m seriously contemplating going for the 100%.
Aaron Dobbe, Editor:
I’ll definitely be continuing to play Mario Kart 8 pretty much all weekend. In between sessions of that I’ll be working through Deception IV: Blood Ties, which I started last week. Above all, it’s been a busy week for me at work, so I’m looking forward to some downtime.
Audrey Lips, Editor:
I plan on perfecting my Mario Kart 8 drifting and item throwing skills. Hopefully, I can actually achieve driving on Rainbow Road without falling off…
Otherwise, I just planning in spending quality time with my dog.
Mike Morrissette, Editor:
Video games will have to take the backseat this weekend, because a little TV show on Netflix called Orange Is the New Black has released a new season today. Between this show and House of Cards, Netflix has me hooked pretty badly.
Landon Luthi, Editor:
I have been spending a lot of extra time playing Mario Kart online. It is going to be a task to pry myself away from this game to play anything else. I am still waiting for my copy of Murdered: Soul Suspect and plan on having that review out sometime next week.
