This morning, Nintendo confirmed that they will be releasing a Mercedes-Benz DLC kart for Mario Kart 8.
The news comes from a post to the official Mario Kart Facebook page. The kart is based on the GLA-Class Coupe from Mercedes-Benz, and will be released “as a download” this summer.
This DLC has already been released in Japan, where it was made available for free. There is no confirmation yet regarding whether it will be free in America as well, nor is there an exact release date.
My Opinion:
I expect this to be a free download, and if I’m right, then I’m totally fine with this. I understand that some people are going to dislike the inclusion of a real car on principle, but it really doesn’t look too out-of-place – especially with karts like the Sports Coupe in Mario Kart 8. My only real concern right now is this: I hope it outside drifts, because otherwise I won’t be able to use it!
