Recently, developer Square Enix announced their newest entry 3DS game Final Fantasy Explorers for Japan. Now it appears that the game will be coming overseas.
Originally reported by Nintendo Everything, Square Enix had trademarked Final Fantasy Explorers in both Europe and the United States. Previously, the game was only known to be released in Japan.
Final Fantasy Explorers is a multiplayer, action RPG that focuses on a search for crystals and battles with monsters. The game features over 20 different unique classes with class specific skills being transferable and a monster training system which allows players to befriend the monsters they fight and use them in battle. Due to the game having four player-slots, the monster training system gives players to fill out these positions with their tamed beasts.
The game will support both local and online four player co-op upon launch. No release date has yet to been announced.
My Opinion:
Final Fantasy Explorers looks to be an excellent action rpg and a great addition to the 3DS library. The game seemingly has taken some influence from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the GameCube and elements from Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. Overall, I’m very excited for the game’s eventual release.
