Skullgirls Encore coming to Playstation 4 and Vita

At the end of 2013, the original Skullgirls was removed from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Arcade after developer Lab Zero’s publishing deal with Konami expired. However, the fighting  game was re-released as Skullgirls Encore in early 2014.

In a post on the PlayStation US Blog, Lab Zero CEO Peter Bartholow announced that Skullgirls Encore will be coming to both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita later this year.

Bartholow has confirmed that the PS4 and Vita editions of Skullgirls Encore will be complete, including all of the DLC characters, stages, and story funded by Lab Zero’s Indiegogo campaign, as well as “All Play” multiplayer lobbies and an extensive art gallery.

More information on the game’s features and pricing will be announced closer to the game’s launch.

My Opinion:

Skullgirls was a fun 2D fighting game with a very likeable cartoon art style. I enjoyed the game when I played it on the PS3. However until more information is released, I see no reason to get the game again on PS4 or on the Vita. However, to anyone who hasn’t played the game and owns no version of Skullgirls, then wait until more information is released by Lab Zero.
