New Tales of Zestiria Character Revealed

The newest character revealed by Bandai Namco Games for Tales of Zestiria is Martron, a female knight.

Martron was first revealed in the latest issue of Shonen Jump (a Japanese magazine) and reported by Anime News Network earlier this week.  The female knight is also known as the “Blue Valkyria” and is the teacher of one of the protagonists, Alicia.

The article in Shonen Jump also states that battles will take place on the field instead of going to a different battle screen like previous Tales games. There are different geographical features that can be used to get the upper hand in battles, such as slight ramps to get higher ground.  Another new feature called “map actions” was revealed. One of the map actions will be called “Clock of Ghost Fog,” and it lets you become invisible to enemies around you, while the other is called “Chief’s Wrist,” and it lets you break boulders that may be blocking your path.

Tales of Zestiria is scheduled for a worldwide release exclusively on PlayStation 3 next year.

My Opinion:

Martron seems like she could be a cool character.  Anyone with the nickname “Blue Valkyria” has to be somewhat cool right?  I also REALLY like the addition of the in-field battles instead of the separate battle screen.  However, I am worried about how it will end up because every other Tales game has had separate battle screens.  I hope they can pull it off, but only time will tell.
