Link’s Gear To Be in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Yesterday, Capcom released a new video for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, which is scheduled to release in 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS. The Monster Hunter series has been known to have a lot of weapons and gear to use and for the newest trailer, Capcom showed off some of the most well known gear in gaming.

The new Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate trailer shows that gamers will be able to use Link’s gear from The Legend of Zelda series. The Link costume, Master Sword, Bow and Hylian Shield will all be usable when the game releases. Capcom has said that there will be more surprises coming very soon.

The Monster Hunter series was first released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, and it was one of the few games that supported online gaming for the system. Since then, there have been 11 main releases including Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. There have been 7 spin-off titles including a Monster Hunter Online MMO, which only saw a release in China. While the Monster Hunter series is a niche title in North America, it’s very popular in Japan. If Capcom ever decides on doing a tenth anniversary of the series, then I guess this is where most of the reported surprises will come from.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be the first handheld game to truly have online multiplayer for the series. Other handheld games in the series only had local area connections. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is scheduled to be released in early 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

My Opinion:

I’m not very far into Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and, while I do need a Circle Pad Pro, the game is a lot of fun. So I’m looking forward to playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Having Link’s gear is just icing on the cake, which I believe will take more heavy grinding than usual to obtain. Wishful thinking for me is that there will be a Metal Gear Solid like gear for Monster Hunter 4 because Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker had a few side missions that had monsters from the Monster Hunter series.
