A release date has been set for the arrival of Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!!! for the PS3 and PS Vita in North America.  On September 23rd, players will be able to purchase the game at retail stores as well as digitally via PSN.  Unfortunately, European gamers will have to wait till later in the year when the game arrives courtesy of NIS America.

Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!!! is an update to the 2009 arcade fighting title Arcana Heart 3. Developer Examu has added new modes and rebalanced gameplay for the updated title.  The 2D fighter boasts a list of 23 playable characters, all female. The ladies are able to combine with celestial beings known as ‘arcana’ to deliver special skills and attacks.  For a look at the colorful characters in action, check out the trailer below.

Pick up the game on September 23rd and let the fighting and fan-service commence to the Max!!!!

My Opinion: 

This is a fighting game franchise I am not familiar with, but I love the title which seems like a quintessential Japanese name to me.  Visually, it reminds me of similar 2D fighters like Guilty Gear or another all female title in Skull Girls.  As a big fan of 2D animation, it is good to see developers still utilize the style to make games.  Being a Vita owner myself, it is good to see another fighting game join the library of the handheld console which already boasts an impressive list of fighters.
