Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Trailer Reveals Claptrap’s Action Skill

2K has released a new trailer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel today, finally giving gamers a glimpse of Claptrap’s Action Skill. Judging from the video, it looks like Claptrap won’t have just one skill, but many different options. Whether the player can choose from different skills or if it is randomized remains unclear, but with options such as Rubber Ducky, Laser Inferno or Tourge Fiesta, Claptrap is already looking like a blast to play as.

The trailer also loosely covers the story of The Pre-Sequel, explaining why the four playable characters choose to help Handsome Jack in his quest to save the moon Elpis from destruction: Athena out of desperation, Wilhelm for money, Nisha for fun, and Claptrap “because my programming forbade me from doing otherwise!”

With Gamescom taking place this week we should be getting a more in depth look at Claptrap very soon. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launches on October 14th in North America on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

My Opinion:

I love the Borderlands franchise and have been impatiently waiting to see what 2K Australia would do with Claptrap. I am so far pleased with what I have seen and cannot wait to find out what awaits me in Claptrap’s Skill Trees. Hopefully I won’t have to wait too long to find out.

Shaun Fales is an associate writer for MONG and can confirm that Claptrap is his spirit animal. You can follow him (Shaun, not Claptrap) on IGNTwitch and Twitter.
