Yesterday at Sony’s Gamescom presentation, Paradox Interactive and Paradox Development Studios revealed their upcoming role-playing game Runemaster for PlayStation 4.
On the PlayStation Blog, Olof Gustaffson, CEO of EPOS Game Studios, announced that Runemaster is many “firsts”: the first role-playing game developed solely by Paradox Development Studio and the first Paradox developed title with both PC and current gen-consoles in mind during its design.
Runemaster is a fantasy role-playing game set in a Norse myth world. The game will throw players into a chaotic world where the fate of the Universe is getting more and more bleak. Players will have the ability to try and prevent cataclysmic occurrences, or bring them further into fruition. The game will also contain six worlds, six races (with male and female choices), and randomly unique quests for the races within each world. The blog also emphasizes replayability as a focal point since you will experience the game radically different based on the race you choose. Aside from quests, players will have to prepare their armies for battles against enemy troops, giants, and the elements around them (such as a wildfire).
Paradox announced that the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC in 2015.
I had no idea about this game or developers until I saw this. The game looks like it’s a new look on the mythical world games and could be very engaging with players who love replaying games to try and find new and exciting challenges. The timeline of 2015 is super broad, but I’m sure we’ll be in store for more information.
