Sony’s heavily delayed exclusive, The Last Guardian, is still in development, but don’t expect to see it at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
When asked if Sony would show The Last Guardian at The Tokyo Game Show, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, told Eurogamer, “I don’t think so. Sorry.”
“I cannot confirm any timing because we are waiting for it be in a state where we are happy that this is the game. We have a certain time frame in our mind and the team is making great progress, but still not to the point that we can say that,” Yoshida said.
The Last Guardian was announced at E3 in 2009, and little has been revealed since. As of now, The Last Guardian is coming, however Sony has not hinted to when that might be.
I think it is safe to say that The Last Guardian is still a few years out. We will see it eventually, but it seems obvious that Sony is most likely reworking and redesigning it for PlayStation 4. Since we probably won’t see it at Tokyo Game Show, I am willing to bet that we will see it at next years E3 or TGS.
