PlayStation Experience 2016 Recap

Today was the third annual PlayStation Experience. This two Day event shows what the PlayStation brand has in store for the next year. The first show was in 2014 with a complete reveal of the then-new PlayStation 4. This year, it was all about the games. Fall’s gaming dominance is over

The fall has always been the busiest part of the gaming year. The end of September sees the beginning of a yearly onslaught of games that puts constraints on every wallet and day planner in the industry. For the players, the fall was the beginning of the arduous wait until our Holiday wishes were made reality. Black Friday was the date that put a hard cap on the season and virtually guaranteed increased success for an individual game or publisher.

And it is in the process of losing its relevance.

Sony raises the bar for E3 presentation perfection

If you have been following the E3 2016 festivities, you are well aware of the clinic that Sony put on during their PlayStation press conference on Monday night. The console maker and publisher put its foot on the gas and did not relent for the entirety of the 70 minute runtime. Rather than let suits and developers gush about their games, Sony chose to let the games do the talking.

The industry needs to take note, because Sony just provided the blueprint to the perfect E3 show.
