Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros, revealed a new outfit for Zero Suit Samus today via Miiverse.

The outfit was originally featured in Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid: Fusion.  According to Sakurai, the alternate attire for the bounty hunter almost didn’t make it into the final version of the game.

“Looking at the number of days we have left for development, it would be an impossible task to create this… That’s what I told my staff. But thanks to the determination of her female designer, these Zero Suit outfits got completed in time.”

Zero Suit Samus’s new outfit will be in both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS launches October 3rd and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is expected this holiday season.

My Opinion:

This alternate costume seems like an odd addition for Super Smash Bros. considering how revealing it is.  Even though Zero Suit Samus isn’t exactly the best representation of the female body, I still think it is a bit out place.  However, the outfit is canon so it fits within the Super Smash Bros. universe.
