PlayStation TV Is Coming Soon!

Sony has confirmed the release date for PlayStation TV.  It will launch on October 14 in North America and on November 14 in Europe.  Along with the launch dates, Sony also revealed it’s Day One lineup as well.

What is the PlayStation TV?  As detailed on the PlayStation Blog – this device is a micro console that enables you to stream your PlayStation 4 games to another HD TV in your home, as well as play select PlayStation Vita, PSP, PlayStation 1 classic games, and TV apps such as Netflix on the device.

There will be 700 games will be available on day one.  Favorites like Metal Gear Solid, Killzone, Rayman, Tomb Raider, Little Big Planet and Final Fantasy will be ready to play as soon as you set up the PlayStation TV.

The system will be available alone for $100 or as a bundle for $10 that includes a wireless DualShock controller, 8GB memory card and The LEGO Movie Videogame. A bundle featuring Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will also be retailing for $140 at Wal-Mart.

My Opinion:  The PlayStation TV sounds like a great idea and something I see myself possible picking up for the living room. It is priced very reasonably and for what it capable of doing, it’s pretty amazing.  I don’t think this will hurt the PlayStation Vita, but instead help it.  Sony is definitely bringing the A game to the party this time around and the PlayStation TV will only get PlayStation products into more homes!
