Nintendo Announces U.S. Release Date for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Nintendo has confirmed that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will release in the U.S. just in time for the holidays on December 5th

Rumors were circulating yesterday about the game being postponed for release in 2015 due to speculations stemming from the European release and retailer listing being pushed back into the first quarter of next year.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a completely new Mario game that is an expansion of the Toad mini-game from Super Mario 3D World. The game was announced at this year’s E3 conference and will use Amiibo during the game.

My Opinion:

The release date being so close to the holiday season is convenient, because as much as I want the play the game I can’t actually see myself wanting to go out and buy it myself. Don’t get me wrong, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is definitely a game I want to play in the future and I loved the mini game of it in Super Mario 3D World! But I see the game being DLC content for 3D World instead of it being a full-fledged game. So again, for sure a game I want to play, just nothing I’m willing to run out and buy immediately.
