Nidhogg Lands on PlayStation Platforms Today

Nidhogg has gained itself quite the cult following and the competitive fencing title has finally made its way to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation TV.

The news comes to us by way of the official PlayStation blog. With a $14.99 price tag ($11.99 for PlayStation Plus subscribers) and cross-buy, Nidhogg’s fanbase will only grow from here on out. What makes the fencing-fighting game even more appealing is that Nidhogg also has cross-platform support. You can throw your rapier at other players regardless of if they’re on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, or PlayStation TV.

If you’ve never heard of it before, or just never seen it in action, check out the release trailer below!

My Opinion:

I’m actually excited about this. Nidhogg is a game that caught my eye a long while ago when it was first featured in an episode of VS (a kind of king of the hill tournament where two achievement hunters go head-to-head every episode) on the Achievement Hunters YouTube. It looks like a fun little title to play against friends. It has that charming, pixelated look that I (sometimes) find appealing and the gameplay looks just silly. Throwing your rapier at your opponent… there’ll never be something like that in a college fencing competition. Yes, college fencing is a thing.

Myles K Farrington is one of the MONG Senior Editors and has recently been losing a lot of sleep due to Destiny. There looks to be no end to the fatigue in sight and he’s not too broken up about it. Keep up with him over on IGN, Twitch, and Twitter as well!
