Runescape developer Jagex announced its intentions to join the ranks of Blizzard’s Hearthstone and Magic the Gathering with a collectible card game titled Chronicle: Runescape Legends.
Chronicle: Runescape Legends will be set in the Runescape world of Gielinor and is set out of the pages of a “living book” in which players can “craft their own miniature RPGs.” Players can fight Runescape bosses, then move on to PvP combat.
Chronicle: Runescape Legends is scheduled to launch on PC, Mac, tablet, and mobile devices in 2015.
My Opinion:
With the great success Blizzard has had with Hearthstone, it’s no surprise that other developers would want to get in on the collectible card game market! I, for one, am really stoked to see where Jagex will go with Chronicle: Runescape Legends in regards to it’s MMORPG game Runescape. I used to be a HUGE fan of Runescape (I even had a woodcutting, firemaking, cooking, and fishing skill cape) and still play the game every now and then. Being a fan of both Runescape and Hearthstone, I can’t wait to see the harmonization of the two in this game next year. I will definitely be trying it out!
