PlayStation’s Minecraft-Skyrim DLC is Incoming!

Mojang has confirmed that 4JStudios is bringing the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim-themed Minecraft DLC to PlayStation consoles.

The “Skyrim Mash-Up Pack” originally came out for Xbox 360 last year, offering new skins, textures, music, and interface options. It also opened up a plethora of locations from the Bethesda blockbuster for Steve to explore.

Via Twitter, 4J confirmed that the DLC will be coming to Sony platforms, but it won’t be this month. With no release date yet, Mojang assures that it will be “soonish.”

Microsoft recently acquired Mojang when Minecraft creator Marcus ‘Notch’ Persson decided he was ready to leave, in order to pursue the freedom of smaller projects.

My Opinion:

I have to admit that when Mojang was purchased by Microsoft, I was worried it might be detrimental to the development of the game’s multiple platforms. This is just one more sign proving that Minecraft can still have a long, fruitful future in the spirit of what makes it so damn fun: freedom.
