The Geekend Update: 12/6/14

Weekends are meant strictly for gaming; at least that’s what we think. Here is where you can find out all of our crazy plans for the upcoming weekend!

Courtney Osborn, Founder & Editor in Chief:

I will be starting on my backlog that I have amassed over the last month and a half now that I am finished with Dragon Age.  Only two weeks left until Finals are over and Winter Break begins! Can’t wait to have more free time!

Harry Loizides, Senior Editor:

Oh the weekend. I’ll be playing some Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Ultimate Tetris. Let’s hope I can get some work done as well 😀

Myles Farrington, Senior Editor:

This weekend I will do nothing but sleep. I will hibernate and dream of The Dark Below… and generally just hang out. It’ll actually be a normal weekend.

Jesse Webster, Senior Writer:

Because I got a new gaming laptop, I got hit with a bunch of games at once, but until I finish Persona Q, I’ll likely not be playing them. I’ve waiting a long time to play Persona Q, so I’ll be taking the time Persona Q deserves.

Audrey Lips, Associate Writer:

I’ll be locking myself in my room to play Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX for my review. I’ve already plugged in over 30 hours and I still haven’t gotten past Kingdom Hearts 2… So it’ll be a long, fun weekend!

Benjamin Luthi, Associate Writer:

I have a very difficult exam for a certification coming up soon, so naturally all my time will be spent playing Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. I may also delve into some Skyrim, since I finally bought it on Steam. I think it’s safe to say that I will not be getting that certification this year.

Brian Hoerst, Associate Writer:

I’m wrapping up the story for GTA V (THE BIG ONE!!!) after a week of little gaming time and then moving on to Assassin’s Creed Unity, most likely. All plans subject to change.

Jason Patrick, Associate Writer:

I finally am finishing up The Evil Within. The game has been hit or miss but I can’t dispute the fact that it’s pretty fun to play, most of the time. Outside of that, I probably won’t do much gaming this weekend. Despite that , it should be one hell of a weekend with The Game Awards and PlayStation Experience happening this weekend. I’m a bit of a Sony fanboy so I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

Lucy Pallent, Associate Writer:

I’ve been busy all week with end of term exams so I can’t wait to have breaks in between revising for some Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. I really need to get better because my amiibo is currently beating me and it’s only level 26. Finally I also be checking out PlayStation Experience and watching the next Legend of Zelda trailer again and again and again…

Matt Middleton, Associate Writer:

Still chugging away at Far Cry 4! Almost done, just got a bit more to go before I can get my review written and move back to AC: Unity with my spare time. The problem is that the spare time is lacking during this time of year!

Matt Southwell, Associate Writer:

Another weekend of Far Cry 4 is in order. With a bit of perseverance I should be able to achieve that Platinum!

Tyler Bartlemus, Associate Writer:

With finals week coming up soon I am likely going to be studying more than playing games this weekend. When I get the chance however, I will attempt to finish Halo: The Master Chief Collection and finally start Assassin’s Creed: Unity.

What games are you playing this weekend?
