Bravely Second, the highly-anticipated sequel to Bravely Default, has received a release date for Japanese markets!Publisher Square Enix revealed on its website that the game will launch on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS. At the same time, the collector’s edition for the game was also revealed courtesy of Inside Games, a Japanese news site. The limited edition includes several goodies that both hardcore fans and newcomers should enjoy:
- Mini soundtrack (physical disc)
- Art book/novel titled “Bravely Default 200 Years Later: Shrine Maiden of the Wind Edea Oblige”
- U notebook
- Magnolia rubber strap
- Code for bonus in-game content
- Pope Agnes mini figure
- A copy of Bravely Second for Nintendo 3DS
While neither a North American nor European localization has been confirmed, it seems more than likely considering its predecessor’s success both critically and commercially in those markets. Those localizations would be likely to launch late 2015 or early 2016, keeping in mind how long the localization process usually takes.
If and when Square Enix announces that Bravely Second is coming to the west, MONG will be the place to come for all the details! Stay tuned!
My Opinion:
I have Bravely Default and still haven’t even opened it. Don’t judge me! I’m aware it’s a great game and I know I need to play it, but I’m going to let this one simmer a little longer until I’m ready for something great on my 3DS. Maybe before Bravely Second’s somewhat obligatory NA release? Hmmm… And seeing how I’m a sucker for collector’s editions, I hope this comes stateside as well, in some form or another.
