The release of Atlus’s Persona 5 is not too far away now, and it sounds like we’ll be hearing some new information about it early next year.
Despite the game’s planned 2015 release, very little about the next Persona game has been shared with the public. Thankfully, that won’t be the case for long. Siliconera reports that Katsura Hashino, producer of the upcoming RPG, had this to say when talking to Japanese gaming publications: “After the New Year, we’d like to reveal content with proper timing.”
Speculation abounds as to what constitutes “proper timing,” but Atlus has been teasing something Persona 5-related on the website for the upcoming “Persona Super Live” concert, taking place February 5, 2015. A character that looks like Persona 5’s protagonist is seen in the background, the website is colored in the same deep red that has accompanied all Persona 5 marketing, and most tellingly, the two occurrences of the number 5 in the date begin to shake violently after staying on the page for a few seconds. Given that the concert occurs not long after the New Year, it’s possible that the two are related.
Persona 5 is set for a 2015 release on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
My Opinion:
Color me excited! I’m a big fan of the Persona series, and can’t wait to hear some more about the franchise’s next step. I’ve gotten a little burned out on the casts of Persona 3 and 4, so I’m hoping to hear some information about the characters of the upcoming title. But really, at this point, I’ll be happy to hear anything.
