GTA V Nearly Finished for PC Release

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is nearing completion, Rockstar confirmed in a Q&A on its Newswire site.

Rockstar covered a range of user-submitted questions regarding GTA V and GTA Online in the Q&A, including the final query about the long-awaited PC game. When prompted, the developer responded with this:

“Hi Alli, we’re presently in the final stages of development on the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V and hope to have confirmed official system requirements to share soon here at the Newswire, please stay tuned for that to be announced in the coming week. Thank you and we’re very excited to bring GTAV to the PC gaming community!”

Along with that news, Rockstar confirmed the ability to transfer Online characters to PC from all four consoles, despite earlier updates claiming a one-time only transfer. If you’ve already transferred from Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 to an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, there shouldn’t be an issue moving again to the PC.

Rockstar also mentioned there is no official release date for the Heists update, but they’re “confident [Heists] will be ready early in 2015.” The details for Heists emerged last week.

“Seasonal treats” are a part of their holiday efforts on GTA Online, Rockstar again added. Perhaps you could say winter is coming.

The full Q&A is on the Rockstar Newswire.

My Opinion:

PC owners have waited a while for GTA V and I’m happy to know they’re getting close to a release date. Despite not playing on PC, I find the mods incredibly interesting and look forward to the works of art we’ll see for this game. As far as the “seasonal treats” go, I haven’t signed in to GTA Online since moving to the PS4, but I’ll likely jump in for a few minutes to see Los Santos covered in snow. Make it happen, Rockstar.
