Marth Amiibo Seeing Rerelease Later this Year

Good news Amiibo hunters, you’ll have another opportunity to get your hands on the hard to find Marth Amiibo.

As announced by Nintendo of America, a new batch of Marth figurines will be available in April.

This is particularly big news as the Marth Amiibo adds additional functionality to Nintendo’s upcoming exclusive Codename: S.T.E.A.M. When pairing up Marth with a New Nintendo 3DS, it allows you to play as the beloved swordsman in Codename: S.T.E.A.M. This timely reissue will give players who missed the initial rush a chance to experience this content.

Codename: S.T.E.A.M. releases for the Nintendo 3DS on March 13th, ahead of the Marth reissue.

My opinion:

I wish I had more time to dedicate to an Amiibo collection, but the hobby seems to favor those who are extremely diligent, and who have the time to spend tracking down the rarer Amiibos. Unfortunately I have neither of these things going for me, so thus far I’ve contented myself with just the one Link Amiibo I purchased the day they were released. The news of the Marth reissue bodes well as it indicates there may be more opportunities in the future to start that collection, and to grab up some of the rarer Amiibos I may have missed. I see that as important in order to get more casual collectors into Amiibos, and is extremely important in the cases where those Amiibos add interesting and diverse functionality to Nintendo’s game lineup. I think the reissue of Marth is a good decision, and a wise step in the right direction.
