The confirmation came via a video interview with Gamecrate during GDC 2015. In the interview, Adam Urbano said Johnny Cage will be a playable character. Urbano said, “You’ll get to play as Johnny Cage, but we’re also showing Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Sonya and Johnny.” He also alluded to Kenshi being added to the roster. These two new additions brings the MKX roster up to twenty.
The video confirming the new characters was later taken down due to copyright claims from Warner Bros.
Mortal Kombat X is set to come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14, 2015.
I’m not a fighting game fan but I have always had an affinity for the Mortal Kombat franchise. Mechanically, they aren’t that interesting but I always was a sucker for the brutal fatalities. What can I say? I’m a fan of some good ole’ ultraviolence.
Johnny Cage is one of the most iconic characters from Mortal Kombat. Frankly, it would be silly for him not to be in it.
