Nintendo Discusses Live-Action Show

After weeks of rumors, theories, and conspiracies, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has finally made an official statement about the Netflix Legend of Zelda collaboration.

Iwata spoke with TIME Magazine and rejected the claim that a live-action show based on The Legend of Zelda is in the works.

He states that:

“As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information,”

Since this isn’t a blatant denial of the concept, there could be a possibility that some sort of show is being talked about with nothing formalized.

My Opinion:
I do like that Iwata did not point-blank reject it. This could be a scenario similar to Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, where the concept was up in the air and almost became a Legend of Zelda game. Perhaps the same thing could happen to this live-action show – starts off as a Legend of Zelda show but changes to Metroid Prime. A guy can dream…
