Another game is getting a remaster, and this time it seems to be the original Gears of War.
Polygon has received information that the update will feature new visuals for gameplay and the animation studio Plastic Wax will contribute new cutscenes. It appears that Black Tusk Studios, the developer who took over the series from Epic Games, will be the studio handling the remaster. This would be their first Gears of War since the switch in development studios, and since Microsoft acquired the IP. However, another source told Polygon that Splash Damage, the developer of first-person shooter Brink, would be the developer.
Gears of War was originally released for the Xbox 360 in 2006, meaning the game is close to being a decade old. That is quite an accomplishment for one series to remain relevant for so long, so a remaster is a reasonable way to celebrate. All of this information has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft or Black Tusk, but Polygon seems to be confident in their sources.
I believe they should do something like Halo: The Master Chief Collection, remaster one game and include the others untouched. Even if they do that, I do not own an Xbox One so I would be unable to play the games, but I did like the original trilogy on 360.
