Two of the most well known companies in their respective fields are partnering up to deliver a unique experience. Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts made the announcement they will be working together to create attractions featuring Nintendo characters, games, and worlds. Universal theme parks have long been a family destination with locations in Hollywood, California and Orlando, Florida to Osaka, Japan, and Sentosa, Singapore.
Nintendo has a long history of beloved characters on both consoles and handhelds, which have been a part of many families over the years. More details will be announced in the future, as Nintendo Land inches closer to being a physical reality.
My Opinion:
This sounds like a really cool idea and makes sense for both companies. From the perspective of Universal, partnering with Nintendo offers a unique experience only available at their parks & resorts, helping to lure families to make it a vacation destination. From the perspective of Nintendo, it gets their iconic brand in a different medium outside of videogames and could potentially help them remain relevant to a whole new generation of kids. Even as an adult I would be down for some Mario Kart racing brought to life or a haunted house featuring Boo ghosts.
