Ratchet and Clank Game and Film to release Spring 2016

Just in time for the Ratchet and Clank Film, Ratchet and Clank Reboot has been delayed till spring 2016. Assuming the game coincides with the release of the movie, which is April 24, 2016, It would be mutually beneficial for both Sony and Focus Features.

In a recent blog post from Chief Brand Manager at Insomniac Games, Ryan Schneider, the PlayStation 4 reimagining of the first Ratchet and Clank game is being developed in house at the studio. It closely follows the movie’s narrative and expands upon its universe. Along with several new levels and some older levels getting the graphical update they need, we also get redesigns of classic R&C weaponry.

It seems as the movie may follow the plot of games with Paul Giamatti voicing Chairman Drek, in addition to Sylvester Stallone, John Goodman, Bella Thorne, and Rosario Dawson. Series regulars James Arnold Taylor, David Kaye, and Jim Ward reprise their roles as Ratchet, Clank, And Captain Qwark. Whether or not the A-list cast voices their respective characters in the game remains to be seen.

My Opinion:

Ratchet and Clank is one of my all time favorite franchises. I was a bit disappointed when it was originally announced at E3 2014, only because I wanted a new game in the series. But really the only game that needs to be updated in the series is the original, and hopefully we will get a rebooted series, and movie series.
