The visual novel Steins;Gate is coming out in Europe as early as June!
The story follows the eccentric mad scientist Rintarõ Okabe as he stumbles upon the secrets of time travel alongside a growing list of lab assistants. As the team develops newer, more ridiculously named inventions, they also dive into the darker laws of science only to discover they aren’t the only ones looking for answers to the universe’s most dangerous questions.
Those of you in North America who are looking to master the Reading Steiner might have to wait just a little longer, though. PQube’s Head of Marketing Geraint Evans says that the game almost hit a rough patch in US submissions.
“The US version is still in submission—for a second it was looking like we would have to make a change to the game, and obviously this is something we did not want to do. Thankfully Steins;Gate will remain intact. We’ll update on release timings when it exits Sony submission in the US.”
Sounds like some evil tactics by SERN, if you ask me!
I spent a weekend marathoning the Steins;Gate anime with some friends last winter. Since then, it has become one of my most adored series. I’m thrilled to learn that the visual novel will be coming to my Vita very shortly, hopefully untampered with. I know I’ll be “hacking to the gate” when this one comes out!
