2K Gives A Hell Yeah! To Stone Cold Steve Austin For WWE 2K16 Cover

2K Games has revealed the cover superstar for WWE 2K16, and it is none other than the Rattlesnake himself, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.  The WWE Hall of Famer follows in the footsteps of WWE legends The Rock and John Cena, who graced the covers the previous two years.  Austin had this to say about his selection when speaking to wwe.com:

“Those two were awesome guys to put on the cover of the 2K wrestling games,” Austin said. “Being in there with The Rock and John is great. But they just got trumped by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin — and I say that with all due respect.”

WWE 2K16 launches on October 27th in North America and October 30th internationally for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.  If you are excited by his selection, crack open a Steveweiser, raise two middle fingers in the air, and watch the reveal trailer below.

My Opinion:

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is arguably the most popular superstar in the history of WWE.  He has name recognition not only among wrestling fans, but the general populace as well.  While he has been out of the ring for a long time, it is not shocking that 2K or the WWE would want to use his stardom to attract attention to the game.
