The latest video game to migrate to the movies has been announced. Borderlands will be making the jump courtesy of Lionsgate. The movie studio will partner with 2K Games and Gearbox Software to bring the popular game series to the big screen. Producers Avi and Ari Arad will adapt the games into film and had this to say about the announcement.
“We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Jon Feltheimer, Michael Burns, Rob, Patrick and the amazing team at Lionsgate and join forces with Take-Two and Gearbox on this incredible property,” said Avi and Ari Arad, in a statement. “Borderlands has a unique story-driven narrative energy and rich multidimensional characters that position it to become a singular motion picture event.”
My Opinion:
I have to say I’ve never played a Borderlands game, despite the fact I hear nothing but good things about the franchise. From what little I do know about the series it features colorful characters and a sense of humor, both things which should aid in bringing it over to film.
