Thinking about purchasing a PlayStation 4, but haven’t made the plunge yet? Well a price drop for the system may be imminent as hinted by a Target.com image.
Since launching in the U.S. the price for the PS4 has remained steady at $399.99. It has recently received a price drop in Japan and now U.S. gamers might be in store for savings as well. An image from Target’s site can be seen here and features one of the newer SKU’s of the console which comes included with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection at $349.99.
Sony has not made any official statement yet, but speculation has been floating around that a price drop seems likely heading into the holidays. Target’s site still lists the system at the current price, but if the captured image isn’t a mistake by the retailer it might not be long before an official price job is announced by Sony for all retailers nationwide..
My Opinion:
The possibility of a price drop doesn’t surprise me and it makes sense for Sony with the holidays coming up and the release of the system about to hit two years in November. Microsoft has a strong holiday lineup this year, and the move might help to dissuade some potential gamers on the fence about which console to buy.
