With Rocksteady Studios’ Arkham trilogy soon to wrap up with the end of its season pass, it seems as though news about the next big DC Comics video games is starting to turn up.
WB Games Montréal has previously worked on Batman: Arkham Origins, and more recently contributed to the downloadable content (DLC) for Batman: Arkham Knight. If the website is any indication, it seems the developer is now working on two AAA video games based on the DC universe. The front page features a prominent pop-up window which features the following message:
“Our world needs more superheroes! Click here to learn more about the job openings at WB Games Montréal.
We are currently recruiting! We are a growing studio with two AAA projects in development focused on expanding the DC Comics universe in the interactive space.”
This is certainly exciting news, if not entirely surprising. With Rocksteady Studios seemingly stepping away from DC Comics properties, WB Games Montréal always seemed the likely choice to take over. Let’s also not forget all those rumors about an in-development Superman game from several months ago, with a screenshot and at least one gif reportedly “leaked” to lend credence to the rumor.

Will we finally get a great Superman game? Only time will tell. Regardless of the characters they choose to tackle, this is an exciting time to be both a gamer and a comic book fan.
My Opinion:
WB Games Montréal gets a lot of crap from fans, but they made my favorite Batman game as well as the best DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight. I’m hoping for a Green Arrow game or perhaps something starring The Flash, but no matter what character or group they choose, I’m in.
