One of the best things about video games is their ability to transport the player to another world. Whether it be the Mushroom Kingdom of Super Mario Bros. or the Outworld of Mortal Kombat, characters often find themselves on a journey to a new destination. In Neverending Nightmares the journey is inward to the terrifying creations that spring from the human mind.
Neverending Nightmares is the brain-child of Matt Gilgenbach, Creator Director of Infinitap Games, as a way to “metaphorically express” his experiences in dealing with mental illness. Players assume the role of Thomas, a young man trapped in a series of nightmares and looking for a way to escape. Featuring branching paths with multiple endings, a stylized pen sketch look, and a haunting score, Neverending Nightmares is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in the 2nd quarter of 2016. The game certainly looks creepy and unique. Although it has been available on other platforms for a while, it is nice to see it come to a new audience on the PS4 and especially the PS Vita.
