Ever since the release of Hotline Miami, publisher Devolver Digital has been on my radar. The company seems to have a knack for partnering with independent developers on exciting games. Ruiner from developer Reikon Games is no exception.
Set in the year 2091, Ruiner is an intense cyberpunk shooter. The city of Rengkok, where the action takes place, is filled with delinquents, security guards, and cyborgs all standing in the protagonist’s way as he searches for his missing brother. With abilities like dashing to dodge bullets and outmaneuver opposition and energy shields for defense and crashing through enemies, the streets of Rengkok quickly become blood stained.
To see the game in action, watch the trailer below and look for Ruiner when it releases on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC later in 2016.
I’m definitely digging the visual aesthetic of Ruiner. The action looks intense and the dash feature and weapon variety looks like a lot of fun. I plan to keep an eye on the game as it nears release.
