While video games haven’t had great success on the silver screen, Hollywood continues to mine them for potential film franchises. Borderlands is now one step closer to getting a shot at blockbuster success.
The Hollywood Reporter has news that Aaron Berg has been hired to write the video game adaptation for Lionsgate. Bases on the popular Gearbox Software Borderlands franchise, the movie is described by some as “Mad Max in space” with sources saying the adaptation will likely be R-rated.
My Opinion:
The Borderlands film being described as Mad Max in space and R-rated is very intriguing. While I’ve never played any of the games, I know the series has a sense of humor and I would hope they would bring that element to the movie as well.
