Mewtwo Invite-Only Raids Coming to Pokemon GO

Niantic announced some legendary news for the world of Pokémon GO.

A new event, Exclusive Raid Battles, will allow Pokémon GO players the opportunity to battle and capture the legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo. Unlike typical raids, these Exclusive Raid Battles are invite-only to trainers who “have successfully completed a raid recently by defeating the raid boss at the gym where the Exclusive Raid battle will be taking place.” These invitations will include advance warning, allowing players to appropriately coordinate with others before attempting to battle the Pokémon. Though Mewtwo will be the first legendary Pokémon to be part of these Exclusive Raid Battles, more will be on the way.

In addition, the legendary birds – Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia – will continue to be available in standard raid battles until August 31st.

My Opinion:
The entire “you must raid previously to raid this Pokémon” is rubbing me the wrong way and “recently” is ambiguous. Is recently one day? One week? One month? And how often will these Exclusive Raid Battle occur? There’s a lot of questions that ultimately seem to hold players back, especially if they aren’t in massive metropolitan areas…
