While we wait for Chilling Reigns to release next week, The Pokémon Company has officially released the next Trading Card Game Expansion: Sword & Shield—Evolving Skies.
Arriving worldwide on Friday, August 27, Evolving Skies seeks to focus on Eevee and its evolutions as well as numerous dragon-type Pokémon throughout the franchise.
Eevee fans will especially enjoy the fact that each Eeveelution will appear as a Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, along with some donning the ‘Rapid Strike’ and ‘Single Strike’ mantle introduced in Battle Styles. In addition, Rayquaza VMAX and Duraludon VMAX will make their debuts to the Sword & Shield series.
Like other expansions, Evolving Skies will be available in numerous forms for purchase: booster packs and 2 different Elite Trainer Boxes (one featuring Umbreon, Flareon, Jolteon, and Leafeon and the other featuring Sylveon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, and Espeon), with more likely in the future.
With this, Pokemon Company has also provide some more details on what exactly is in the series:
- 15 Pokémon VMAX
- 18 Pokémon V and 33 full-art Pokémon V
- 24 Trainer cards and five full-art Supporter cards
- A new Special Energy card
