Pokémon Company just officially announced a slew of new tidbits of information for the new Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games for the Nintendo 3DS.

Done through a YouTube video, the company announced three new Mega Evolutions: Mega Altaria, Mega Salamence, and Mega Lopunny.

In addition, Pokémon Contests are back! There seems to be a character, Lisia and her Altaria, that might introduce the character to the contests. With this, there appears to be an opportunity to dress up a Pikachu in various outfits, and that Pokémon can even battle in the costumes! It isn’t yet known if this is only for Pikachu or if other Pokémon can battle in costumes.

Pokémon hordes also make a return. These types of battles allows the player to battle against five wild Pokemon at once.

And it wouldn’t be a Pokémon announcement without a Pokémon giveaway. Starting November 21 (the same day the games will be released in North America), players of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire can download a SHINY Beldum with Metagross’s Mega Stone.

My Opinion:
I continue to love all these giveaway Pokémon that the company is literally handing out to trainers. First it was Torchic and the Blazikenite when the game released, then the Fancy Pattern Vivillon, then Heracross and Pinsir, then Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon, and now a Shiny Beldum! I am one happy Pokéfan. The contests returning are no surprise, but I am intrigued about Pikachu being able to battle with its costumes. The mega evolutions look great, and I can’t wait to try them out!
