Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Getting Free Costume DLC

Yesterday, Bandai Namco announced in a press release that players will be able to download a free DLC Costume Pack for Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment from its release until November 18th.

The costumes include a wedding dress, dress shirt, nightie, and school swimsuit for each of the “heroines to adorn.”

Also detailed in the press release were two characters that will “impact the course of the story.”  The characters and their descriptions are as follows:

Heathcliff – The leader of the guild “Knights of the Blood Oath,” but his real identity is Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of Sword Art Online. Why is he still here when his death was assumed after his duel with Kirito on the 75th Floor…?

Alberich – He wished to participate with the Assault Team on 75th Floor and higher. He leads a capable fellowship of men, dons powerful and fine equipment and possesses high enough skills to fight on the front line. However, his true ability is a well-kept secret…

The final announcement made in the release is that players will be able to download a major update for the title on September 23rd to extend their experience.  The free update raises the level cap from 200 to 250 and provides an additional 30 hours of gameplay that includes 50 new Hollow missions and heroine quests, new bosses, weapons, armor and more.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will be released next week in North America on August 19th as a digital download only title for PlayStation Vita for $39.99.

My Opinion:

I am not really a fan of the free DLC because it is just weird costumes, but I know there are people out there that like this sort of thing.  I am however VERY excited about the free update in September.  That sounds like a lot of extra stuff to do in an already exciting looking game.  I can’t wait to get my hands on it!  I need another great Vita experience.
