PC Version of The Division Won’t Be a “Port”

In a recent Blog Post, Massive Entertainment, the team who is currently developing the next gen title The Division, reassured PC gamers that the PC version of the game won’t simply be a straight port to the PC platform. Which is a common practice in the video game industry. When asked how the PC version would look, Antoine Emond had this to say:

“As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC.”

Emond went on to further state,

“You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.”

So any fears that PC gamers had that The Division would be sub par on their platform of choice, can now be put to rest.

The Division is releasing sometime in 2014, we don’t have a specific date yet, but we presume we will find out at E3 2014. The game will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. No word on a Mac OS X version yet though.

My Opinion

I don’t play on PC, so this bit of news doesn’t  affect me that much. Though I’m happy the people exclusively on PC can get a decent version of what is shaping up to be an amazing game. Though they should really get a version for OS X out, those poor gamers need something new!
