It was rumored almost two weeks ago that Target was going to be running a special sale the week of November 10th where you could buy 2 new PlayStation 4 games and get 1 free. This rumor has now been confirmed to be true. Their online weekly add was released at 12:00 AM and it shows that Target is selling not only PlayStation 4 games for buy 2 get 1 free, but ALL video games in the store for the entire week. There is a fine print that is located underneath this awesome deal: “Transaction must include 3 different game titles. Limit 1 of each title per transaction. Lowest-price game will be free. Quantities limited; no rain checks. Release dates subject to change.”
What this doesn’t tell us is whether or not you can pre-order games that are set to be released on Tuesday or Friday. Will we be able to buy Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Killzone: Shadowfall, and Knack? The ad shows them as having release dates that are different from their actual street date. Killzone and Knack are already available but this shows them as available on Friday. We will have to find out how exactly they are going to work this sale out. I will be visiting Target first thing in the morning to find out and update this blog! Until then!
9:15 AM: I just spoke with my local Target. They currently have Need for Speed Rivals, NBA 2K14, Knack, and Killzone: Shadowfall available for PlayStation 4. They said they have a very limited quantity of each of them. I asked what I should do if I only wanted 2 of them and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag which comes out on Tuesday. He recommended that I come in today, pick up 3 PlayStation 4 games to get the Buy 2 Get 1 Free. Then come back on Tuesday and return all 3 unopened and get a full refund. Then RE-BUY the 2 that I wanted that I had already bought along with Assassins Creed this time. This would ensure I got a copy of the first two along with AC4 on release day Tuesday. I am thinking about doing it. What are your thoughts?
