Disney Abandons Star Wars 1313 Trademark

The trademark for the game Star Wars 1313 has been abandoned by Disney, suggesting that the game will never see a release.

A glance at the United States Patent and Trademark Office reveals that the trademark for the game was not renewed on December 23rd, 2013. The trademark could possibly be renewed at a later date, but it seems quite unlikely.

When Disney originally took over LucasArts, we we’re told that the development cycle of Star Wars: 1313 would not be affected, though these claims did not hold up, and it wasn’t long before rumors began to surface of the game being cancelled. It was officially cancelled soon afterwards. Even with the official announcement, many still held out hope that the game would still see the light of day, those people can now put those hopes to rest, unfortunately.

My Opinion

I wasn’t aware of this game until very recently, and I must say, I wish they would have kept it in development. It looked like a great game, and it’s unfortunate that we’ll never get to play it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go take care of my Doctor Who addiction.
