Watch_Dogs Release Date Revealed

Watch_Dogs has officially received a release date! And it’s sooner than you might think.

It has been confirmed that Watch_Dogs will release on May 27th. The news comes from EA, who had this to say,

“We are pleased to be able to reveal to gamers all over the world the new release date for Watch Dogs™,” said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA SVP of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “We are extremely confident that the additional time we afforded the dev team to refine and polish the game will be more than worth the wait.”

Players who purchase Watch Dogs on either PlayStation 3 or PS4 will have exclusive access to 60 minutes of additional gameplay via the PSN.

“We’re really excited for the launch of Watch Dogs on both PS3 and PS4 and are confident that it will prove to be one of the standout games of 2014,” said SCEA’s Michael Pattison. “It’s a unique and visionary game and we believe that the exclusive content available via PSN will not only excite gamers, but showcase how PlayStation is a preferred destination for Watch Dogs.”

It should be noted that this is not the release date for the Wii U version, as it was confirmed that that version of the game will be delayed until after the other versions are released.

Watch Dogs was announced back at E3 2012, and was originally going to launch on November 19th, 2013, but it was pushed back several months to finish polishing the game.

My Opinion

This is awesome! It seems like the perfect time to be launching, as it is right in the middle of a gaming drought. I’m looking forward to Watch Dogs, and was even going to pre-order it to go with my PS4, but then it was delayed, unfortunately.
