Titanfall Expedition, the first batch of Titanfall DLC, is coming in May according to Respawn Entertainment’s PAX East panel.

Titanfall Expedition will consist of three new multiplayer maps that take place after Titanfall’s main campaign. Swampland is the first map, and will take place in a swamp with trees and vines that can be utilized for wall-running; Runoff is the second map and will consists of pipes and water; War Games is the last map and will take place in a military training area.

While this will be paid DLC—and cost $10.00 according to Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment—free updates and are still planned for the future. These will consist of bug fixes, new game modes, new burn cards, and possibly a HUD-free specter mode.

My Opinion

I really like the idea of a swamp-themed map, and there just aren’t enough of those in shooters. Left 4 Dead 2 had a nice one, but I’m having problems thinking of any others in recent video games. Swamps allow for some interesting color variation and tone; there’s something spooky about them. Assuming Respawn Entertainment continues to put story elements into their maps, I’m curious to see what will come of Swampland. Something spooky, I hope.
