IO Interactive has released new concept art for the next Hitman game on its official website. IO Interactive also announced on the same post that they will not be attending E3 this year.
IO Interactive explained why they would not be attending E3 this year, “we’ve seen a lot of people talking about what we might be bringing to E3 this year. We know the worst thing is to hope for something that doesn’t turn up; so we wanted to let you know that our next Hitman is going to be under wraps for a bit longer. We’re focusing all of our time and efforts into creating the best possible Hitman game. That’s our number one priority and we don’t want to divert valuable resources to show something before it’s ready.”
However, IO Interactive has ensured fans of the series that, “The good news is we’re making great progress with building exotic and expansive locations for the new game. To give you an idea of what we’re aiming for, here’s the first piece of concept art from the game.”
According to IO Interactive, this building is located in Central Europe and players will be to explore inside and outside the building. For a sense of scale, IO Interactive claim that the building is larger than any location in Hitman: Absolution
This is interesting! I was hoping to see something at E3 but sadly that is no longer possible — unless they make a surprise appearance — but it’s good that they are not willing to show the game until they know it’s ready to be shown unlike other publishers, cough Ubisoft cough.
