PlayStation Exclusive Destiny Content Revealed

At E3 this year it was made clear that PlayStation owners who pick up Bungie’s Destiny will be getting quite the treat in terms of exclusives. On top of the alpha (which was extended beyond it’s original end date) being a solely PlayStation 4 experience, the other exclusives have been revealed, and they look pretty awesome.

The folks over at Inverted Controls have brought us the info on the PlayStation exclusive strike, competitive multiplayer map, ships, and gear.

The Dust Palace is the name of the exclusive strike which PlayStation owners will get to run though. The Dust Palace is an ancient human skyscraper located on Mars and the strike will concern you and your fire squad tracking an extraction team through the building. Considering it’s on Mars, the likely enemy to be fought will be the hulking Cabal.

For those of you excited for the competitive multiplayer in Destiny, you have the Exodus Blue map to look forward to. Exodus Blue is a mid-size map which facilitates the control and skirmish game modes.

When it comes to the guns, they’ve taken an interesting spin on the aiming mechanics in video games with the first. The Monte Carlo is an assault rifle that bucks against the need for scopes by specializing in hip firing.

The second exclusive gun is the rather ornate and vicious looking Hawkmoon, which gets damage boosts as it levels. This hand cannon (as they’re called in Destiny) sports feather etchings along the barrel and has a swept back bird look to the hammer. On top of that, the butt features a spike which can easily be compared to a bird’s talon

The aforementioned exclusive ships all appear to be variations on the Kestrel model and sport their own fancy new paint jobs. From top to bottom, we have the Aurora Wake, Outrageous Fortune, and Crypt Hammer. All of them looking fit to see the stars in.

Last but not least, the part that you all have been reading for, the exclusive armors. Each class will be receiving a snazzy new armor set to sport on the battlefield. Again listing from top to bottom, there’s the Vanir set for the Titans, Argus for the Hunters, and Manifold Seeker for the Warlocks.

My Opinion:

As someone who just spent their weekend playing Destinyit should be pretty obvious how I feel about this. I’m going crazy waiting for Destiny (and I just stopped playing it) so any news is just fuel for the fire. The armor and weapons in Destiny are nothing short of amazing and to be able to see even more of them just makes me more and more excited. I have to admit, when it comes to these exclusive armors, weapons, and ships, my favorites are the Manifold Seeker, Hawkmoon, and Outrageous Fortune.

The only slightly confusing thing about this news is that it seems strange that they didn’t go all out. They seem to have left out exclusive special (secondary) weapons, heavy weapons, Ghosts, Sparrows, armor shaders, and emblems. However, we are getting quite a lot so I’m not complaining. I just can’t wait to get my hands on the game and see all the gear that Bungie has to offer.
