Deep SIlver announced Escape Dead Island yesterday for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Escape Dead Island is a third-person survival-mystery game that takes place in between Dead Island and Dead Island 2. In this installment, the player will discover the origin of the virus.
“Players will freely explore this all-new island, sneaking to avoid undead that can hear and smell you,” said Alex Toplansky, the Senior Narrative Director at Deep Silver.
Escape Dead Island follows the story of Cliff Calo as he tries to find the secrets of Narapela, a government quarantined island, while struggling with his sanity.
Unlike the previous Dead Island games, Escape Dead Island will use a comic book style look “to compliment Cliff’s surreal situation.”
Escape Dead Island will launch this fall on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC for $39.99. It will also include access to the Dead Island 2 beta if you pre-order it through GameStop.
My Opinion:
Escape Dead Island sounds like an interesting idea, but, apart from the art style, the short trailer Deep Silver revealed did not grab my interest. The story looks predictable, and I can’t imagine a Dead Island game making a smooth transition to third-person.
