In an interview with DSOGaming about Sniper Elite 3, Lead Programmer Kevin Floyer-Lea expressed interest in returning to the Alien vs. Predator universe for yet another game.
“Here at Rebellion we’ve got a particularly strong attachment to the AvP universe, so [returning to the franchise] could happen” Floyer-Lea said.
Of the large variety of Alien, Predator, and Aliens vs. Predator games available, Rebellion has worked on four–more than any other studio. If anyone were to build the next AvP game, it would most likely be them.
“I’d love to see an AvP game with fully procedurally generated levels, where you literally never know what’s around the next corner” Floyer-Lea concluded the subject with.
The Aliens vs. Predator games are some of my favorites. When it comes to delivering a multiplayer experience, they manage to create a certain kind of insanity not found anywhere else. Rebellion did a good job with Aliens vs. Predator 2010, though not a great one. I believe that, if given another chance, they could make a great game.
