Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed gets a release date

Xseed Games has announced that their upcoming RPG, Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed will be released first on PlayStation 3 and Vita on August 12th, and later PlayStation 4 this holiday season.

Xseed Games also announced the pricing for both the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of the game at $39.99, with the PlayStation 4 version’s pricing to be released at a later date.

The game is described as being a highly stylised action RPG that takes place in a virtual recreation of the Tokyo district Akihabara (also known as Electric Town). The player will be tasked with defending the human population of Akihabara from vampiric like creatures known as “Synthisters”. The only way to defeat them, is to expose them to direct sunlight. Players will be using a variety of weapons in combat to beat their enemies to submission before literally stripping their enemies of their clothes to defeat them.

The game is said to be a satire of Japanese Otaku culture and the game will include both English and Japanese voice-overs.

In addition, Xseed Games released a new trailer for the game.

My Opinion:

I love Japanese games because they are very distinct and unique from games developed in the West. As a fan of anime and Otaku culture, I look forward to seeing how accurate Akihabara is recreated in the game as well as the many anime easter egg references hidden in the game.
